On the way back home from dinner just now, I had a thought. More like a question-based-idea.
In pharmacology class, the lecturer repeated a few times about alcohol tolerance in Chinese and Indians/Africans. He mentioned that Indians/Africans have higher tolerance of alcohol than Chinese. If not mistaken, I remembered he said the tolerance have something to do with the metabolism of alcohol (breaking down of alcohol).
I was thinking just now, if we could increase the metabolism of alcohol, then people will not get drunk isn't it? If that's possible, I doubted myself for a moment, thinking, what's the use of it? If that's possible, what benefit would it bring? It will just cause those people to drink more, get drunk without worrying, eat that whatever drug/tablet and they'll be fine. I don't see the bright side of this cure for drunkenness.
That idea actually came across once during class, just that I never think much of it. I think, in the future if I had any ideas on curing for something, which isn't much beneficial as like above, I may scrap it. Good or bad?
